August 6, 2019 - Bijoux delivered a handsome true black male (19.2lb) by Janus' Grey Fox of Granite Bay. Dam and cria are doing very well - on maternity leave for a bit. May 2019: Breaking News - Bijoux's 9.5 month daughter Queen of Soul wins the female Reserve Color Championship at GWAS! Judge Sharon Loner commented that Aretha (whom we call Ari), is exhibiting a lovely phenotype and serious fleece volume with lovely silver-grey color and uniformity. What's not to love? Bijoux is a serious ROCKSTAR and has proven to be a top true black foundation dam. Her genetics feature strong black color as well as excellent fleece quality and strong conformation with the bloodlines of Peruvian Demetrio, Felix, Ghengis Kahn, Zorro PC, and Outback Gold in her background.(Her ARI cert defies describing her as Peruvian, or Chilean, etc. She is truly a lady of the world! She is true black, velvety soft with nice brightness and superior density. Her conformation is rock solid. At the ABR Fall Festival 2006 Bijoux won reserve color champion. The judge remarked that she loved her fleece and that she was denser and finer than the champion alpaca. In 2007 her fleece won black color championship and first place at the AFCNA fleece show. Bijoux is a wonderful mother; she breeds easily, delivers her crias without assistance, and has plenty of milk. She is very mellow and easily handled. She is the ideal foundation dam, and we anticipate many excellent crias from her in the future.
